Minnesota Climate
Spring
In April and May, the average temperature is a high 62 / low 41 degrees. After a cold winter, many Minnesotans can’t wait to get out and enjoy the warm sunshine. Even yard work can be appealing once the snow melts.
Summer
During June, July, and August, average temperatures run a high 83 / low 60 degrees. Summer weather can fluctuate with alternately high heat and moderately warm days. Sail, swim, golf — every warm weather activity is popular here including great cultural events that depend on warm, sunny skies.
Fall
In September, October, and November, average temperatures begin to fall to a high 65 / low 42 degrees. Cooler weather brings gorgeous fall foliage across the state. The brilliant red and orange leaves signal the end of summer. Take a drive, pack a picnic, and don’t forget to bring a sweater.
Winter
December through March brings average high 21 / low 1 degree. With the cold comes beautiful white snow and more than 10,000 lakes of ice to skate on. Snowshoeing; cross-country and downhill skiing; snowmobiling; and hockey keep Minnesotans busy and warm.
